the short answers.
- How much room do I need?
- Three or four feet of flat carpet or putting mat. The ball only needs to roll a short way, so stop it with a towel or cushion and practice any length of putt.
- Do I need a tripod?
- A cheap phone tripod is easiest. Anything steady works if it holds your iPhone side-on to the line, about two feet off the floor.
- Does it read my line?
- No, it's all about pace: how far the putt would roll. If you're working on start line too, use it alongside a putting mirror or gate.
- Do I need special balls or clips?
- No. Any putter and a plain white golf ball. Patterned balls are harder to read, and a well-lit room helps.
- Which iPhones work?
- Any iPhone on iOS 17 or later. You sign in with Apple so your putts sync.
- What does it cost?
- Nothing, for now. Every putt, your History and both games are free.
